Good samaritan gets wallet snatched

A man, who took out his wallet to give money to a someone who needed gas, ended up the victim of a robbery.

Darrell Walker is charged with robbery.

Police were able to make an arrest in a robbery four days after it happened.

On June 24th at 1:35AM, someone called police saying they had been robbed in downtown Richmond.

The victim says as he was toward Nikki's Tavern on Water Street, he was approached by a black male who says he was out of gas. The man asked the victim for a couple of dollars. As the victim removed his wallet from his pocket, the suspect grabbed the wallet and took off running. The victim told Richmond Police that as he attempted to chase after the suspect, another man grabbed him and held him down so the suspect could get away.

On June 28th, police arrested 41-year old Darrell Walker. He's being held in the Madison County Detention Center on a robbery charge. The other suspect involved remains at large.
