RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - Two groups working to dispose of stockpiles of chemical weapons at the Blue Grass Army Depot are holding a public meeting this week in Richmond.
The Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens' Advisory Commission and the Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eastern Kentucky University's Carl D. Perkins Building.
The Chemical Demilitarization Citizens' Advisory Commission is chaired by Doug Hindman and is a governor-appointed commission that represents community and state interests to the Department of Defense.
Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board is an independent subcommittee of the commission. The advisory board is made up of community leaders who represent the views and concerns of the local community regarding Kentucky's chemical weapons destruction program.
