Richmond Police charged 35-year-old Allen Wayne Strickland for wanton endangerment after he was discovered driving while impaired with a child in his vehicle.
Police say Strickland was at the Long John Silver's, stopped in the parking lot, waiting on employees to bring out food that had been ordered at the drive-thru. Police say Strickland was the operator of the vehicle and appeared to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Officers noted that there was an 18-month-old male child in the rear seat. Officers subsequently determined that Strickland was impaired and arrested him for D.U.I.
The child's mother was called to the scene and took custody of the infant.
