Richmond Police have charged 41-year-old James Burus of Miller Drive with wanton endangerment and providing a handgun to a minor in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Altamont Street December 2.
Police say it started as a fight involving Burus and another adult. Police say Burus came to the home as a result of an ongoing domestic dispute. When he arrived, police say he was met at his vehicle by a male resident and an argument ensued.
The resident reported that during the course of the argument, Burus brandished a handgun and pointed it at him. Burus then passed the handgun to the juvenile seated in the vehicle with him. When he did so, the resident attempted to grab the firearm from the juvenile, at which time the weapon discharged into the floorboard of the vehicle.
No one was hurt.
Police charged the juvenile with wanton endangerment, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
