A woman is charged with wanton endangerment after police found a four-year old child wandering alone. Richmond Police arrested the child's mother, 24-year-old Rebecca Pattison.
Officers say managers of the apartment staff found the child wandering unattended outside the complex on Big Hill Avenue. The staff member took the child to the office and contacted police.
Officers say they located Pattison in an apartment at the complex. She was asleep and did not know the whereabouts of the child.
Police say this is the third time in which the same child was found wandering unattended. The first incident happened on 10/02/2011, when the child was discovered walking around unattended in a field on Foxhaven Drive. No charges were filed at that time.
On 10/23/2011, the same child was found unattended on Foxhaven Drive after the child walked into a stranger's apartment. Officers cited Pattison at that time for Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and Social Services was notified of the incident.
Pattison was charged with this latest incident. Social Services were again notified of the incident. Arrangements were made for the safekeeping of the child.
