The mother of 27-year-old Michael Dale Begley, Jr. last talked to him on the phone the day before Thanksgiving, and even made plans to see him.
"He could talk about anything with me. He goes, well mom I love you, I'll be home, I wanna see you. I said ok," remembers Anna Begley.
.But she never got to spend the holiday with her son. The next time she heard from anyone about Michael Begley, was from a state police detective Saturday afternoon.
They told her his body had been identified as the one found along Taylor Road in Boyle County Friday morning.
"All he ever wanted was for people to like him, and love him," Anna Begley said.
And she says whoever killed him, didn't do so without a struggle.
"My son would not go down without a fight. My son would not go down without a fight," Anna Begley said. "It couldn't have been just one...and to throw him out of a vehicle?"
Now, all she has left are memories.
"Just him coming up and giving me a hug, just out of the blue," Anna Begley said.
But no answers for why, or who, beat her son to death.
"Please, give me my son's killer," Anna Begley said.
Police followed up with leads Sunday, but made no arrests.
Anna Begley says she'll be setting up a memorial fund in her son's name at Citizens Guarantee Bank in Richmond to help cover funeral costs.
