Police in Madison County searched for clues into early Tuesday morning in an investigation that may have to do with a murder.

A man is in the Madison County Jail charged with murder, kidnapping and tampering with physical evidence.

Information about which case the arrest may be tied to hasn't been released.

However, numerous tips came into WKYT, saying police were seen digging off Barker Lane West in Berea, which is off Highway 1016.

WKYT contacted Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison early Tuesday.

Cornelison wouldn't comment, only saying he would wait for police to release information.

Investigators couldn't confirm to WKYT whether the investigation is linked to a missing persons case that Richmond Police have been investigating for nearly two years.
