Police say man driving 100mph while intoxicated

    Richmond Police say the driver hit another vehicle on I-75 before officers were finally able to stop him and make an arrest.

Richmond Police arrested a Knoxville, Tennessee man for driving well over the speed limit, intoxicated. They say 41-year-old Durico E. Moses hit another vehicle on I-75 and left the scene.

That driver reportedly told police Moses was going nearly 100mph when the accident happened near the Duncannon Lane exit. The driver told police the speeding car had struck his vehicle and continued northbound on the interstate.

Richmond Police say an officer observed the fleeing vehicle near Exit 87. The officer says the vehicle was swerving and weaving at a high rate of speed. The officer managed to get the vehicle stopped at the 89 mile marker on the interstate at which time Moses was identified as the operator.

Officers subsequently determined that Moses was intoxicated and had been involved in the earlier crash. The arrested him for D.U.I., leaving the scene of an accident, and wanton endangerment.
