An investigation is underway after police say someone stole copper cable from a facility belonging to AT&T.
Richmond Police say the theft happened sometime over the New Year's weekend, at an AT&T facility on Corporate Way.
An AT&T manager reported it to police Monday.
Police say the thief got to the cable by cutting through a chain link fence, then cutting through some locks from the racks that secured the cabling.
Police say nearly 3,100 feet of cabling, worth around $7,600, was stolen.
