LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It's been two years since a Madison County woman died inside her Waco home.

Investigators say someone killed 86-year-old Anna Marshall then set her house on fire. They haven't arrested anyone for the crime.

"I would not call this a cold case by any means," explained Trooper Robert Purdy, "in the last couple months we've had some information come in. We've had three detectives actually going through the case."

On March 25, 2012, firefighters found 86-year-old Anna Marshall's body while trying to put out a fire in her home. At first, investigators thought Marshall died in the house fire. They later determined someone beat her, killed her, and set her house on fire.

"People know what happened that night," said Trooper Purdy, "we're still actively investigating it and it's one of those things where we're just trying to make sure that we have everything and see if we've missed any information. Make sure that we've talked to everybody we need to talk to."

Neighbors told us the mother of seven had no enemies. They say her family's now building a new house where hers once stood.
