Woman accused of attacking Walmart employee during shoplifting

A central Kentucky woman is charged with robbery after police say she stole three hats from a Walmart, then twisted a finger of an employee who was trying to stop her from getting away.

It happened Tuesday at the Richmond Walmart.

Police say 57-year-old Linda Sue Bates left the store without paying for the hats. Store employees then chased after her, caught her, then brought her back to the store.

Police say Bates then grabbed one of the employee's fingers, and twisted it in another attempt to run off.

However, Bates was not able to escape.

Police charged Bates with second degree robbery. She was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
