SOMERSET, Ky. (WYMT)-
The possibility of more liquor licenses available to Somerset businesses may not be a welcome idea to everyone.
The Commonwealth Journal reports Somerset Mayor Eddie Girlder says he expects several local stores to try and prevent the licenses to restrict competition.
There are five retail liquor licenses available in the city and officials have been lobbying for additional licenses for months. The decision of whether or not additional licenses will be available will be made by mid July.
