Leroy Price took a routine stroll amidst the peaceful rolling hills of eastern Pulaski County in April 2003. Yet days later it turned into a massive man hunt, when he didn’t come home. Then it was a mystery for his family of what happened to him. But almost 7 years later to the date, a hunter stumbled across human bones.
“They (local officials) said it looked like he crawled up under a cliff..is what they told me yesterday,” said James Price, Leroy’s brother. The coroner paid Price a visit upon receiving confirmation from the Kentucky Medical Examiner that the remains do belong to Price.
Officials say they may never know what exactly happened to Price, but they have more or less ruled out foul play.
“He hadn’t been shot, hit in the head, didn’t have any broken bones or anything like that. They thought he just died a natural death or got out there, got snake bit one day,” said Price.
Price says he never gave up praying that one day he’d find his brother.
“I’d ask the Lord once before, if he would help me and stuff, which it did happen, you know. Everybody be thankful to the Lord for that,” said Price.
Officials say they found Price laying on his side, leading them to believe he may have crawled under the ledge on his own, and died as he laid there.
