Longtime GOP worker Doris G. Petercheff dies

SOMERSET, Ky. (AP) - Doris G. Petercheff of Pulaski County, a
longtime Republican campaign coordinator in Kentucky, has died. She
was 74.

Petercheff died Thursday at her home in Acorn.

According to the Commonwealth Journal, Petercheff served in some
position in every state, district and local election since 1962.

She was campaign coordinator for U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers at the
beginning of his political career when he sought the office of
Pulaski County attorney, when he ran for lieutenant governor and at
least three times when he ran for Congress.

She was Rogers' 5th District representative for seven years
after he was elected to Congress in 1980. She previously was office
manager between 1964 and 1979 for the late U.S. Rep. Tim Lee
Carter.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters. Funeral services
will be Saturday in Somerset.
