At least four people have been injured after what officials are calling a "flash fire" at a Pulaski County plant.
It happened just before noon Friday at the Kingsford Charcoal Plant on Highway 27, just south of Burnside.
Investigators say some workers were doing maintenance work near some outside silos where charcoal briquettes are stored, at the time of the flash fire.
Investigators say some sparks from a welder ignited some nearby charcoal residue, causing the flash fire.
We're told four workers suffered second and third degree burns to their faces, arms, and lungs.
The plant itself was not damaged.
Three of the injured workers were airlifted to UK Hospital. The fourth was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
We're told the injured workers have all worked at the plant for at least 5 years.
