A Pulaski County man had to be airlifted to a hospital Wednesday after police say his van ran off a road and hit a tree.
Police say they found the crash just before 8 a.m. on Highway 1675 in Pulaski County. Investigators think the crash actually happened several hours before they found it.
Police say 40-year-old George McMackins, of Somerset, was driving a 2008 Dodge Caravan, when for some reason, he lost control on a curve, ran off the road, and hit a tree.
Police say McMackins had to be extricated from the van. They say he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
McMackins was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center, then flown to UK Hospital in Lexington.
