PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police say three children were critically injured Thursday in a crash that's being blamed on icy roads.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on Highway 80 in the Stab community.

Police say 28-year-old Austin Estes, of Hopkinsville, lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center lane, and hit a pickup, driven by 37-year-old John Cromer, of Nancy.

Police say Estes' vehicle then hit a minivan, driven by 39-year-old Robert Caldwell from Ages.

Police say all drivers and passengers in the vehicles were taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. From there, police say three children, who were in Caldwell's vehicle, were taken to UK Hospital in critical condition.

Police say everyone injured in this crash was wearing a seat belt. They think snow and ice on the roads played a role in the crash.
