Six Somerset police officers will get a two thousand dollar raise to settle a lawsuit.
The officers accused Mayor Eddie Girdler of retaliating against them for supporting his opponent in the 2006 election.
The Lexington Herald reports the city's insurance company will also pay the officers' attorneys $85,000.
A trial in the case was scheduled to start Tuesday.
Girdler has said he did nothing wrong and he's not been charged.
