Low-cost airline to end service

A low-cost airline from Central Kentucky will end service to Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Friday.

A program to subsidize passenger air service from the Somerset Airport has cost taxpayers nearly a million dollars. But, with the subsidy about to end, the carriers plans to pull out after tomorrow.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the airline had few passengers on some of the 9 seat flights.

One flight last month had two pilots and only one passenger.
