It was quite a scene Thursday for the people who live near Whitis Lane.
“Actually about 12 to 15 cops there all together,” said Troy Ard, who lives just up from where police had quite a presence Thursday morning.
Ard says police swarmed the home but he and others didn’t know why. He said police weren’t telling him anything but they did have a lot of questions for him. "They said anybody with close proximity of the neighbors would be persons of interest , ‘Did you see what happened? Did you know them?’” he said.
Police are now saying that Carol Barnett, 50, and her caregiver mother were both found unresponsive Thursday morning after a neighbor called police because of the concern the two women hadn’t been seen in a few days. Both were taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital where Barnett died.
Police say at this point they don’t know what happened to either woman, but foul play is not suspected.
