DNA used to identify human remains

The human remains found near the Rockcastle River are being examined by the Kentucky Medical Examiner, but the coroner says the bones’ DNA will be examined to find out if they do in fact belong to Leroy Price.
The 54 year old man was last seen on April 21, 2003, when he left his brother’s home on Price Valley Rd. On April 19th, skeletal remains were found just off East Adkins Arthur road at the base of a small cliff. The coroner tells me that the clothing on the bones matches those of what Price was wearing that day and police say there were no other missing person cases in this area. For Price’s family, this could be the end of a long mystery.

“Me and my wife talked about that this morning….I said that’s kind of strange how that worked out, them finding him almost 7 years to the day,” said Leroy Price’s brother, James.

Police say they have no evidence to suggest foul play but the cause and manner of death are yet to be determined.
