The search is on for a robbery suspect police say escaped from a Kentucky State Police post while being processed.
State police say 20-year-old Christopher Michael Sams, of Somerset, escaped from Post 11 in London just after 4 Wednesday morning.
He was originally arrested around 2:15 Wednesday morning on Highway 80 West in London.
During the arrest, police say Sams tried to escape, so an officer used a TASER on him to get him in custody.
At that time, police say Sams was charged with fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, and providing an officer with a false name or address.
Police say they later discovered Sams had outstanding warrants in Pulaski County for robbery and failure to appear on traffic related charges.
Sams was then taken to Post 11 in London to be processed on the charges.
Just after 4 a.m., state police say Sams was somehow able to escape.
An extensive search of the area was launched, but police weren't able to find Sams.
Police say Sams is white, around 5'10", weighs around 170 pounds, and has black hair.
Anyone with information as to Sams' whereabouts is asked to call Kentucky State Police at 606-878-6622.
