Some say the waters of Lake Cumberland have been strangely quiet this summer.
“Through the week hardly anyone out here. We were tubing yesterday and no one was on the water but us,” said Tom Corbin of Somerset.
“I don’t think it’s been as crowded this summer. I don’t know if it’s the rainy weather, but it’s definitely quieter on the lake,” echoed Nathan Zettler of Cincinnati.
In fact, the manager of Burnside Marina says rentals were down so much last weekend, he says business was "dead."
“I don’t think people are traveling as much right now,” said Corbin. “The economy has a huge effect on it. Talk to dealers, they’re not selling any big boats. Just small stuff,” he said.
