State police say a trooper shot a man while responding to a call about an apparent domestic dispute.
It happened at a home in the Nancy community in Pulaski County Thursday morning.
When police got inside, they also found a woman with gunshot wounds.
We are told that police went to the home on Okalona Drive after a woman called 911, screaming for help.
When police showed up, that woman came to the door. A man also came to the door and took the woman back inside.
Police then heard a gunshot and say the man came back outside and fired at police, which led to him being shot.
The suspect was air lifted to UK Hospital.
His condition is not known.
The woman was found dead inside.
Police are not releasing their names.

We're told when police went to check, the man answered the door holding a gun, leading officers to shoot him.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries is not known.
