The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a Somerset man on theft charges following an investigation into several thefts of utility trailers.

The Sheriff’s Department received several reports of utility trailer thefts in the southern Pulaski County area over the past several weeks. The department says the investigation into those thefts led to the identification of a suspect. They say several stolen trailers have been recovered.

Deputies charged 43-year-old Gary Wayne Girdler with theft by unlawful taking over $500, and theft by unlawful taking over
$10,000.

The Sheriff's Office says Girdler was identified as a suspect when one of the stolen trailers was sold and later traced back to Girdler. The Sheriff’s Department says six trailers have been recovered so far and all have been identified and returned to their rightful owner.

Investigators are continuing their effort to locate and recover additional trailers.
