Police arrest man accused of inappropriately touching shoppers

SOMERSET, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - Police have arrested a man who they believe was inappropriately touching shoppers in Somerset.

Somerset Police arrested 38-year-old Robert Hammonds while he was hiding out at a residence on North KY 1247 just before midnight Saturday night.

Police began looking for Hammonds on May 31st after two women told the Somerset Police Department they had been touched inappropriately while shopping at TJ Maxx in Somerset.

Detectives released still images and video clips of the suspect which led to numerous tips.

More victims came forward after the videos were released and the number of victims now stands at six.

Hammonds was lodged at the Pulaski County Detention Center and charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse First Degree, and three counts of Sexual Abuse Third Degree.

The case remains under investigation.
