A Pulaski County woman is facing charges after she bought a pet monkey for her son.
The Commonwealth Journal reports Tamela Collins bought the primate as a therapy device for her young son, who is autistic.
Collins says she was hoping the animal could be a constant companion for the boy.
Collins told the paper she found out after she bought it that it was illegal to own a monkey in Kentucky without a special permit.
