A woman is recovering after her car was hit by a train.
It happened Monday afternoon on Freedom Church road in Pulaski County.
For reasons not yet known, police say 53 year old Mary Rutherford stopped at a railroad crossing and was hit by the Norfolk Southern train.
Police say the crossing is marked by stop signs and railroad crossing markers.
Rutherford was flown to UK Hospital.
Her condition is not known.
