A girl has been killed, and three other people injured, after a car crashed in Woodford County Monday morning.
Versailles Police say they were called to U.S. 62, near the Anderson County line, just before 9 a.m.
Witnesses told police they saw a Ford Taurus go off the side of the road, then crash into several trees, before coming to a stop.
Police say the girl died at the scene. The coroner has identified her as 9-year-old Hailey White, of Versailles.
"From what appeared to me... head trauma and internal injuries from the impact with the tree," Versailles Police Lt. Daniel Clark said of the girl's injuries.
"Ah man, I hate to hear it, she was an amazing little girl," said Bert Stinson.
Bert and his wife Phyllis were longtime next door neighbors to the Whites, before the Whites moved from their Kilmer Street home.
"They were just really good neighbors and it's just so sad, I get kind of emotional," said Stinson.
Police say Hailey's 6-year-old brother Jacob White, her 28-year-old mother Leslie White, and 25-year-old passenger Martin Coovert were also inside the car.
Jacob were told was treated and released from UK Hospital. As of Monday evening, his mother Leslie, was listed in critical condition and Coovert was listed in serious condition.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. U.S. 62 was closed for several hours at the scene of the crash, but it has since reopened.
Police say all four occupants were wearing their seat belts and they don't suspect speed played a role in the deadly crash.
