The Woodford County town of Midway was put under a boil water advisory Friday after three water pipe breaks were discovered downtown.
Crews spent Friday afternoon repairing the underground water pipes which city officials say likely ruptured due to age and cold weather. The city was placed on a boil water advisory once the ruptures were discovered.
Most restaurants on Main Street were closed Friday afternoon and were concerned the advisory could take a toll on a business Friday night.
Some owners we spoke to say water pipe issues in Midway aren't uncommon.
"We've been here since 2007 and this is the 3rd or 4th time it's happened" said Rob Vandergrift, who owns Quirk restaurant.
City crews say the pipes were repaired as of Friday afternoon however the boil water advisory would stay in effect until water tests are complete.
