By 2018, women entrepreneurs are expected to be responsible for creating 5-5.5 million new jobs nationwide—more than half of the new jobs small businesses are expected to create, and about one-third of the total anticipated new jobs. As the voice of more than 6,000 members and 60 chapters nationwide, NAWBO® National is strongly positioned to support these women as they lead the economy change.
Evelyn Strange, 2011-2012 Chair, will speak to NAWBO®’s key priorities for expanding influence and visibility, including becoming the premier, go-to source of information for women-owned businesses and building presence in Washington D.C. by raising visibility, identifying new funding, building membership and strengthening chapters. Evelyn will also cover NAWBO®’s 2012 Strategy to increase organizational productivity; establish a fundraising strategy; re-engage involvement and influence in the public policy arena; continuously improve all levels of operational systems; identify and recruit experienced board members; strengthen the National/Chapter business model; and manage financial results. The National Conference 2012 to be held in Louisville will also be part of this organizational overview.
