Investigators say it may be late Thursday or even Friday before the victim of a fiery crash in Woodford County is identified.

Versailles Police say the victim's SUV ran off Old Frankfort Pike near U.S. 62 around 10 p.m. Wednesday and crashed into a tree.

The vehicle then caught on fire with the victim trapped inside.

The Woodford County coroner told WKYT early Thursday he wasn't sure if the victim was a man or a woman.

Fayette County Attorney Larry Roberts showed up at the crash scene as police were investigating.

Officials won't say why Roberts was there but confirmed he wasn't there as a prosecutor.
