WHITLEY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Whitley County Sheriff's Deputies and Kentucky State Police say 24-year-old Anthony Anderson known as "Stuttering Bob" and 28-year-old James "Jimmy" Davis were arrested Friday in relation to theft of telephone cable.

Sheriff Colan Harrell said this is more than just an inconvenience for customers. "It is a safety concern for folks who rely on phone service in case of an emergency," said Harrell.

Deputies told us services for AT&T customers on the South end of the county were interrupted August 3rd.

On August 8th an employee for AT&T was working along Highway 1804 when they found a wallet belonging to Davis.

The wallet led officers to Davis' home where they found both men and a burn pile with remains of the phone cable. Officers say the cable is valuable because it's metal contents can be melted down and sold as scrap.

Anderson and Davis were charged with receiving stolen property valued under $10,000. They were taken to the Whitley County Detention Center.
Harrell said "Stuttering Bob" was charged with the same crime back in 2010.

Deputies told us 33-year-old Edna Holt was also at the home at the time. Holt was arrested for a parole or probation violation.
