A dozen alleged drug dealers are off the streets and in jail in Whitley County.
A one year investigation led to the arrests.
The sheriff's department, Williamsburg Police, KSP, and UNITE all participated in the drug round-up on Wednesday.
So far, city police have arrested six people and the sheriff's office has also arrested six.
They are still looking for ten other suspects.
“We're having a bad drug problem in our county and it seems like it gets worse day by day and we're going to try to do what we can to clean it up,” Det. Bobby Freeman said.
“Taking a drug dealer off the street even for a short period of time is something we will do no matter what,” Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell said.
All of the suspects are charged with drug trafficking.
Two others were also arrested on unrelated charges.
