WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (AP) - More than 200 youths from 26 counties in eastern and southern Kentucky are attending an anti-drug camp this week at the University of the Cumberlands.
The camp is offered by Operation UNITE, a regional initiative formed to fight the drug epidemic in the area.
Along with activities designed to educate participants in the dangers of drug abuse, the camp also offers skill classes, games and awards. This year's camp will also feature youth motivational speaker Jeff Yalden, who will address the crowd on Friday.
The camp is sponsored by Toyota Motor Manufacturing-Kentucky, Alpha Natural Resources, the City of Williamsburg, and the University of the Cumberlands.
