Kentucky State Police say troopers discovered an active meth lab while stopping a car early Thursday.

Troopers say they noticed a strong chemical odor coming from the car while pulling over the driver on Highway 3041 in Corbin.

After searching the vehicle, found an active meth lab, finished meth product, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to Kentucky State Police.

Troopers arrested Barry W. Welborn, 31, of Corbin, Lori N. Welborn, 32, of Corbin, John C. Jones, 37, of London, and Barbara S. Leake, 41, of London.

The Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigation section responded to the scene and neutralized the hazardous materials.
