WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - Nearly five days after he walked away from work release with the highway department, a Whitley County inmate is back in custody.
Officials with the Whitley County Detention Center tells us that 34-year-old Shannon Wynn was picked up by the London Police around 9:45am Saturday morning while walking along the side of the road near I-75.
Wynn was taken into custody without incident.
Williamsburg City Police, along with jail officials have been actively searching for Wynn since he walked off on Monday afternoon.
Williamsburg City Police charged 39-year-old Katherine Wheeler with hindering apprehension and second degree escape on Friday. They say she helped Wynn evade police.
Wynn was transported back to the Whitley County Detention Center around 11am Saturday afternoon.
Wynn was serving time due to violating the conditions of his parole for a previous manufacturing methamphetamine conviction. He was arrested in January for second-offense manufacturing meth, endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of controlled substances and for his parole violation.
