CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - A Whitley county fast food restaurant lost one of its workers after a deadly accident.

Brittany Childress, 20, was walking with her boyfriend on KY 26 when she was hit by a truck.

Police say she was flown to the University of Tennessee, where she later died.

Co-workers say she often walked to and from work.

Childress had worked at the McDonalds on Cumberland Falls Highway for over a year.

Co-workers say she will be missed.

“She was a really sweet girl. She was always nice and kind to people. She was a good mother. She always talked about her child and tried her best to take care of her the best way she knew how,” said friend Tiffany Mason.

No charges have been filed against the driver.
