WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - The heavy rains forced several cities to cancel their Fourth of July fireworks shows including Williamsburg.
The holiday event happens every year at Kentucky Splash Water Park in Williamsburg.
Even though it rained nearly all day long, crowds still came out for some fun in the water.
They had events like a hot dog eating contest and the famous duck race scheduled, but officials decided the weather was just too much for the show.
“We thought and we were hoping that the rain would dissipate, and that we would be able to watch it. We love the duck race. We come every year,” said park visitor Kelly Talley.
The show is now set for Saturday the 13th.
