Sheriff says he wasn't alerted to escaped inmate

Posted: 04/03/2013 - There's some disagreement in Whitley County as to who knew about an escaped inmate and when they knew it. The jailer says within a half-hour of an inmate walking off the job at the highway department on Monday, he'd notified sheriff's deputies and Kentucky State Police. The Sheriff says he didn't find out until last night and that creates a threat to public safety.
