High school football player in critical condition after crash

A central Kentucky high school football player is in critical condition at UK Hospital after being hurt in a crash.

The Winchester Sun reports 17-year-old Mykal Barnes' car slammed into a rock wall on Mount Sterling Road in Clark County Sunday night.

Investigators say Barnes was not wearing a seat belt.

Barnes is a student and football player at George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester.

Police say wet roads may have played a role in the crash.
