Friends and loved ones are using music to celebrate the life of a young football player.
It's been weeks since 17 year old Mykal Barnes died from injuries he suffered in a terrible crash in Clark County, but the young man's memory continues to touch the hearts of his community. Since Barnes passed away, many have looked for ways to help his loved ones with their grief, especially his young friends. A family friend says the idea of a concert seemed to offer a chance to open the event to the entire community. Once the planning began, organizers received an outpouring of support from far and wide. In addition to serving as a fundraiser, parents say they think the public tributes have helped their children grieve in a healthy way. Money raised will go into a fund for Mykal Barnes' family to help pay for medical and funeral expenses.
The concert continues at the Blackfish Golf and Hunt Club in Winchester until 8 tonight.
