A inmate escapes from a central Kentucky hospital, but less than two hours later is captured.
Authorities tell us 20-year-old Leanne Dow was in the Clark County Detention Center when she complained of pains and asked to see a doctor.
Deputy Zachary Brewer escorted her to Clark Regional Medical Center, but had to leave the room during her examination. That's when Deputy Brewer says she escaped through a back door in the exam room. Deputy Brewer alerted fellow officers and the Clark County Detention Center. They searched the area extensively, even had some officers in their off-duty cars looking for her. They kept a close eye on the neighborhood surrounding the medical center and on nearby interstate exits. They found Dow in a field near a truck stop.
Dow was originally booked in the detention center for fraudulent use of a credit card. Additional charges may be pending.
