Thousands of children will have Christmas presents thanks to the 14th annual Faith and Community Christmas Store. The store is located in the Vineyard Community Church at 817 Winchester Road.

This morning, the line wrapped around the parking lot and down the street. Folks were waiting to get their numbered passes for the opportunity to go shopping in the store.

"I've been coming to this for the last four years... And we've been camping out like this," explained Carolyn Haddix.

Carolyn Haddix was first in line this year; one of about a thousand people waiting to get their numbered passes to shop in the Catholic Action Center's store over the next three days at the Vineyard Community Church. She arrived Sunday just after noon and says camping out to shop first was worth it.

"When you ain't got a job... Yes it is."

" I went and spoke to a group last night, trying to get them to go home. They said 'some people stand in line for UK tickets; we stand in line for Christmas,'" explained Ginny Ramsey, Executive Director of the Catholic Action Center.

This store provided more than 14-thousand children with toys last yea and this year, the need is already greater.

" We can use more 9-12 year old toys we can use volunteers tomorrow at 8, 11 and 2," Ramsey said.

Donations can be dropped at the church on Winchester Road and Ramsey recommends folks drop off in the back of the store. There, she says she'll also have tax donation forms available.

The Store Opens Tuesday and Wednesday at 8. The store closes for the last time Wednesday at 5.
