An investigation is underway in Clark County, after crews found the body of 79-year-old Harvey Chism inside his home.
The Clark County Fire Department tells 27 NEWSFIRST the fire happened Sunday night on Ralston Lane, near Fort Boonesborough at the Kentucky River.
The call first went out as a brush fire around 6:30pm. When fire crews arrived on the scene they found a small home in a wooded area which had already burned. Firefighters found Harvey Chism inside when they investigated the burned home.
Today investigators were back on the scene of the fire.
"We're just processing the scene and we're gonna make sure there's no foul play. We'll continue to gather all the information that we can and after the toxicology comes back we'll go forward from there," says Sgt. Matt Feltner with Kentucky State Police.
Authorities say they have no reason to believe at this time that foul play was involved. An autopsy on Harvey Chism is scheduled for Tuesday.
