Congratulations to the City of Winchester on the Beer Cheese Festival they held today. It was a lot of fun and if you did not attend today, make sure you mark your calendar for next year especially if you like beer cheese. They had over seventeen different beer cheeses to sample, all varied in taste, texture and heat. Attendees helped pick their favorite beer cheese from the various brands. The winners for 2010 Beer Cheese Festival are Southwind for first place, Howard's Creek Authentic Beer Cheese received 2nd place and Allman's took 3rd place. I sampled most of the beer cheeses and found all of them good. I had a few favorites that I won’t mention here but liked them because they were extra hot the way I like it. Kentucky has been known for its beer cheese for years and today showed that the beer cheese industry is alive and well in our state. Someone mention that Wisconsin has beer cheese but I would be surprised if it is anything like ours.
Beside the seventeen beer cheese vendors the beer cheese festival offered a lot of other vendors from artwork to sweet treats. So even if you are not a beer cheese fan the event offered something for everyone.
