WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - An overturned truck is causing a traffic tie-up in a busy industrial area.
A tree trimming truck overturned in front of the 96 Truck Stop on Rolling Hills Way in Winchester. Officials at the scene say the driver drove off with the bucket lift raised. The lift got caught in power lines and tipped the truck over.
The impact knocked the bucket loose from the truck. It fell down, damaging three cars. No one was injured.
The driver told officials that he did not realize that the bucket was raised.
The accident caused a fuel spill on the road. Officials have since cleaned it up.
The accident also caused a power outage. Nearly 360 Kentucky Utilities customers were without power due to the crash. Power was restored for those customers around 9:30 Thursday morning.
AT&T also had to repair one of its lines, which was damaged in the crash.
Rolling Hills Way is blocked as fire officials try and clear the crash scene. Fire officials at the scene say it could be a while before the crash is cleaned up.
