WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - A Clark County couple remains jailed after being indicted after two babysitters reported they were raped in the couple's home.
Twenty-six-year-old Robert E. Lee and his 25-year-old wife Pennie Lee are being held in the Clark County Detention Center.
The babysitters said while babysitting for the couple they were given marijuana and alcohol before being raped by Robert E. Lee, according to court documents.
Lee's wife is accused of knowing about the incidents and not intervening or reporting them to authorities.
"It's bogus. I've just been staring at the wall," Robert E. Lee told WKYT during an interview in April.
One of the victims reported being sexually assaulted by Mr. Lee in January. Court documents say she reported being unconscious at the time, and woke up feeling as if something was wrong.
Investigators found videos of Lee and his wife engaging in sexual acts with "young" people whose ages are unknown. Investigators also found texts between the Lees, discussing sexual acts with intoxicated young girls.
His wife is charged with complicity to rape in the second and third-degree.
Lee also told WKYT he was in the Army National Guard.
The couple no longer resides in the home, where the alleged crimes took place. Neighbors say they are glad the Lees are out of the neighborhood.
"To have that happen, it kind of wakes you up. You think you can judge people but you can't," said Diane Barnett.
The Lees will be arraigned on July 3.
