Clark County beat Oldham County 56-39 in the first round of the Kentucky boys' Sweet 16 tournament Wednesday.
Tyler Wesley led Oldham County (25-8) with 11 points. Zollo had
10 points for the Cardinals.
Fans were pouring in to Rupp Arena about an hour before the noon game tipped off.
Excitement was building among Clark County fans for their first tournament since 2007.
"We're so excited for these young men to represent Clark County in the Sweet 16," said fan Kim Richie.
Wearing their school colors, fans cheered on the 10th region champs as they took on the Oldham County Colonels.
As the clock hit zero, it was a blowout win for Clark County..
It has been 60 years since Clark County has won a state title, so fans are anxious for another win.
Clark County now advances to play on Friday, and Wednesday afternoon people were already lining up for tickets to the game.
