Clark Co. residents say deadly crash shows need for stoplight

People who live in Winchester tell me that this intersection at Ecton Road and Memorial Parkway has always been a dangerous one. They say that last night's deadly accident just goes to show that something needs to be done.

"How many people's going to have to die before we do put a stoplight up there?" asks Melisa Hull, who lives nearby. She says the intersection's been a problem for a long time.

"I feel sorry or her family because now they have to bury a loved one just because she was maybe just trying to get across that and you cannot get across half the time. People are speeding across to beat traffic and it is very dangerous and it does need a stoplight," says Hull.

She says nearby intersections have stoplights that could prevent tragedies like this.

"If the intersection here needs one and the intersection above the school needs one, then what makes this one any different considering there is an actual grocery store sitting here. That one needs one worst of all!" says Hull.

That wreck last night brought Clark County's fatality count for the year up to three. Last year, the total for the whole year was six. People who live here say hey want to see something done before anyone else dies.
